Manufacturing skylights peaked in the late 1980’s with more than 300,000 units sold around Australia. By this time many other companies were starting to produce very similar products and it was felt a change in direction was required to maintain our position in the market.
It was noted that we were selling quite a lot of domes to other companies and hail damage was increasing as some units were now over twenty-five years old. This led to the design of a new magnetic tooling system that could produce and size domes up to 1600 x 1600 mm sq. The design was so advanced it could produce three different shoulder shapes and use either acrylic or polycarbonate material using only one tool.
This system was conceived and produced by Atlas and is exclusive to this company. Replacement skylight domes are now boxed and sent all over Australia at a competitive price.
